Are you struggling with or desperately trying to avoid difficult emotions? Maybe you are going through a life transition that you don’t quite know how to navigate. Do you find yourself thinking, “I should be happy”, but you are still experiencing feelings of depression, anxiety or just general discontentment. Deep down, there are behaviors you want to change, issues you need to resolve or patterns of thinking that are not serving you well?
Jill is eager to walk alongside you to offer support and skills to achieve the change you desire. Her passion and purpose is to help her clients regain their God given sense of worth, safety and self-control. In counseling sessions, Jill works collaboratively with you to identify the source of your pain and create a pathway to healing and thriving.
If you have experienced trauma, Jill will hold a safe place for you to process those traumatic events and the impact on your mind, body, spirit and emotional well being. If you are struggling with addictive behavior, she will help you identify unhealthy coping strategies and replace them with behaviors that promote healing and growth. Jill will work with you on ways to allow you to experience and navigate all of the emotions that God has gifted us with, while feeling safe and grounded.

Areas of Specialty: Depression, Anxiety, Life Transitions, Trauma Recovery, Women’s issues, Grief and loss, Shame Recovery, Addictions, Attachment Healing, parenting and spiritual formation/exploration and building healthy relationships.
Primary modalities: EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique).
Experience and Education
Jill has over 15 years of experience providing mental health and substance abuse services to a diverse population of adolescents and adults. She received her BA in Communication Studies from San Jose State University and her MA in Counseling from Colorado Christian University. Jill is also a Certified Addictions Specialist and trained in EMDR.
In her free time: Jill enjoys spending time hiking, paddle boarding, or walking her dogs around the lake. Jill also attends weekly Bible Study and enjoys spending time (usually eating) with her sisters in Christ. Jill is a mother to 3 adult children and is the caretaker for her spunky 85 year old mother.
